Top 10 Things to Do While Social Distancing

As we all practice social distancing, there are a few things you can do to pass the time and keep your mind and body active. Here are a few suggestions from the PBCC:

1.) Watch a PBCC Webinar!  The PA Breast Cancer Coalition has a library of webinars* available on topics like breast density, lymphedema, clinical trials, palliative care and more from breast cancer experts.
*please note, continuing education credits are no longer available for past PBCC webinars

2.)  Contact your state representative.  Please take this time to email your PA state representative and ask him/her to vote “yes” and support Senate Bill 595, which requires insurers to cover breast MRI and ultrasounds for women with very dense breasts and other high-risk factors. Early detection saves lives!

3.)  Take a walk! Enjoy a little fresh air and get those steps in before the 2020 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community Saturday, May 16! Have you registered yet? There’s still plenty of time to start a team, join a team, register as an individual walker or a virtual walker. Our goal this year is to raise enough money to send 100 Friends Like Me care packages to newly-diagnosed women in PA. We can do this, but we need your help!

4.)  Share Your Story.  Every breast cancer survivor has a unique journey.  Share yours with us and inspire other women just like you.
