GP SPOTLIGHT – Pucks with Pros

Over the past 15 years, Pucks with Pros has raised over $138,000 and immeasurable awareness for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition. Thanks to the efforts of the coordinator, Jon Jehrio and the continued support of the sponsors and players, the cancelled 2020 NHL Alumni Challenge still raised over $13,000 for the PBCC. This year, Pucks with Pros is back and stronger than ever!

“Putting forth the effort to help the next generation is the responsible thing to do.” Jon Jehrio, Pucks with Pros Coordinator

TELL US ABOUT YOUR EVENT!

The NHL Alumni Pro/Am for Breast Cancer, is special in many ways. It provides amateur hockey players an immersive experience with former professional hockey players at the historic Hersheypark Arena. The players enjoy stories, skill, and banter from pros in the locker room, on the ice and at the pub after the game. This year, fans will not only enjoy the excitement of hockey games featuring former NHL players (including former Hershey Bears), but they will also be treated to the sounds of the Hersheypark Arena organ. The event includes players from all over the country as well as amazing sponsors who contribute to expenses and the mission of the PA Breast Cancer Coalition. We’re very excited about the 2022 Pucks with Pros; William Penn Glass will be sponsoring a special game featuring all the NHL Alumni, Primanti Brothers and Red Robin will be sponsoring teams and hosting parties, we also have two new team sponsors – Centric Bank and Slapshot Jerky. Each sponsor will have their own table at the event offering participants the opportunity to network and sample their products.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO RAISE MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER?

It is important to raise money for breast cancer because when a cure for breast cancer is found it will mean we are closer to a cure for all cancers. Last year, we lost one of our regular participants, Brett, to colon cancer. For those who knew Brett personally, we expect this year to be especially meaningful. Proceeds will benefit women and families who are currently battling breast cancer. We resonate strongly with the mission of the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and believe that any relief we can provide for women and families in need is well worth the effort.

The 2022 Pucks with Pros will take place at the Hersheypark Arena on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2. For additional information please visit, puckswithpros.com.
