A Bird’s Eye View of Treatment: The Future Landscape for Metastatic Breast Cancer

Presented by Monali Vasekar, MD of Penn State Health Hershey

In this workshop, participants will learn about the latest standard of care treatments for metastatic breast cancer (MBC), understand the differences between subtypes, and see how they compare to previous treatments. The session will present both sides of treatment by discussing the potential toxicities involved and recent advances in MBC treatment.

Care for the Caregiver: Families, Spouses, and Supporters of Survivors

Presented by Celeste Vaughan-Briggs, LCSW of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital

Caregiving for someone with cancer is a profound responsibility that can impact every aspect of your life. This workshop will explore what it means to be a caregiver across different backgrounds, relationships, and settings—and how this role can affect mental and physical health. Participants will learn to recognize signs of caregiver stress, access mental health resources, and find support for both themselves and the person receiving care. Whether you are a family member, friend, or professional caregiver, this session offers practical tools, validation, and connection to help you navigate the caregiving journey.

Chair Yoga for Cancer Recovery

We all know that battling a life-threatening disease such as cancer can be physically, emotionally, and mentally stressful. Practicing chair yoga regularly can reduce the likelihood of mood disturbances and improve physical and cognitive functioning. Studies have linked yoga with reduced fatigue, decreased stress and anxiety, improved flexibility and strength, enhanced circulation, better pain management, mental clarity, and emotional stability. Chair yoga is a gentle and effective way for individuals recovering from cancer at all stages to improve their physical and mental well-being.

Nourish with Ease: Accessible Meal Prep for Cancer Survivors

Presented by Emily Santana, MHSc, RDN, LDN, and Lyndi Mies, M.Ed, RDN, LDN, of Weis Markets

Preparing nourishing meals after breast cancer treatment can be challenging, especially when energy is low and time is limited. This workshop is designed for breast cancer survivors, offering easy and practical meal prep strategies that support healing, wellness, and day-to-day life. Participants will learn which foods can aid in recovery and long-term health and walk away with the knowledge of five go-to ingredients that make building balanced, satisfying meals quicker and more manageable.

Triple Negative Breast Cancer: What to Know as a Patient or Family Member

Presented by Walker Lyons, MD of Fox Chase Cancer Center

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a unique and aggressive form of breast cancer that requires a different treatment approach than other subtypes. This workshop will provide a clear overview of what sets TNBC apart, current and emerging treatment options, and the challenges patients may face during and after care. Participants will also explore supportive resources and strategies to manage the emotional and physical impact of a TNBC diagnosis. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, in treatment, or supporting a loved one, this session offers vital information and encouragement.

Understanding Risk: Risk Factors that Influence Breast Cancer

This workshop will provide an overview of the various risk factors associated with breast cancer. Participants will gain insights into the genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that increase risk, along with the latest research on prevention and early detection strategies. By the end of the session, attendees will be better equipped to assess and manage breast cancer risk for themselves and others

Where Did I Put My Humor?

In this lively presentation, we examine how we can use humor to help us heal in even the most serious of health issues.  As a cancer survivor, Tammy discusses the need to find our missing humor to help us better embrace each day! This lighthearted approach to healing is a healthy reminder to all of us that life is about choices, and we have many more choices than we realize.
