2012 Conference Workshops

Call for Workshops

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition is calling for proposals for workshops to be presented at the 2012 PA Breast Cancer Coalition Conference on Tuesday, October 9th. The deadline for submissions is April 2, 2012.
 

We are currently looking for workshops to fit into the following tracks*:
 
  • Leadership, Advocacy & Education
  • Advances in Treatment
  • Research and Clinical Trials
  • Breast Cancer Survivorship
  • The Mind/Body Connection
  • Caring for the Caregiver
 *Workshop submissions are not limited to these tracks; we just ask that you use them as guidelines. For example a workshop on exercise & breast cancer would fit into the Mind/Body Connection track.
   
  Workshop slots are an hour long and should be geared towards a lay audience of breast cancer survivors, nurses, etc. If you have a workshop that you think would be an appropriate fit for the 2012 conference we would love for you to send us a proposal.

This should contain:
  • Your contact information
  • A description of the workshop: title, brief description including the workshop goals and objectives
  • Biographical information and/or a CV for the presenter** along with their contact info

Please send your proposal by April 2nd to Jennifer Pensinger.

  **Please confirm that the suggested presenter is available to present at the conference on Tuesday, October 9th PRIOR TO SUBMITTING your proposal. The PBCC applies for Continuing Education Credits for the workshops and cannot replace presenters at the last minute.

All presenters are required to supply the following information by July 1st. (a confirmation letter with materials and instructions will be mailed to them when the workshop is confirmed):
  • Picture for use in conference materials
  • Professional CV or Resume
  • Brief bio in paragraph form for conference materials
  • Brief description of workshop (2-3 sentences)
  • ONS Biographical Sketch Form
  • ONS CE Approver Unit Financial Disclosure Form
  • Workshop Objectives & Outline Form
  If similar topics are suggested the PBCC reserves the right to combine workshop presentations into one time slot allowing equal time for each presenter. More information will be sent out about this once the workshop list is compiled after the submission deadline. Due to a limited number of workshop slots, we can not guarantee that all proposals will be used as workshops.
