On Saturday, June 20, Clipper Magazine Stadium hosted the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and the Lancaster Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer Home Run Derby. We welcomed brand new batters including survivor Rita Ann Gilson and her team, Rags Gang, who made the drive from Philadelphia to participate, along with returning batters Brandon and Heather Miller, Susquehanna Bank, and Ameriprise, among others. 2015 Derby presenting sponsor, Team Emerald Asset Management, racked up points while returning all-stars the Furlong Boys brought the competition to a whole new level. Let’s not forget to send a shout out to fan favorite Cylo for stopping by!
It was a fun day for all, including PBCC Board Member and South Central Vice President Alice Sanders who spoke on the field at the Saturday night Barnstormers game and all derby batters who cheered the home team on to victory against the York Revolution that night!
Our highest fundraisers in Lancaster were the Furlong Boys, raising $520 for our mission! The top scores were:
Mark Furlong, 27.5 point average, 275 points total
Scott Miller, 27.5 point average, 275 points total
John Furlong, 26.6 point average, 400 points total
Richard Hart, 25 point average, 375 points total
Jeb Besecker, 25 point average, 375 points total
