Organization Background
The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) represents, supports and serves breast cancer survivors and their families in Pennsylvania through educational programming, legislative advocacy and breast cancer research grants. The PBCC is a statewide non-profit organization with a board of directors and a network of volunteers across the state. The PBCC exists to help the 9,500 women in this state who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, to support the families of the 2,200 women who will die from it and to serve as a resource for the hundreds of thousands more women currently living with the disease.

Position Summary
The PA Breast Cancer Coalition is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, energetic professional with excellent communication skills to work full-time in the Lebanon, PA office.

The Program Coordinator manages programs and special events for the PBCC.  This includes the PA Breast Cancer Coalition Conference, the PA Breast Cancer Coalition Research grant program, PBCC webinars and other non-program related events and press conferences. We’re seeking an event planner, a team player, someone who can work with different personality types and is serious about getting the job done. We need someone who’s focused, organized and detail-oriented.

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of two years’ experience handling all aspects of event and program planning, be proficient in MS Office and the Adobe Design Suite of programs, have strong oral/written communication skills and work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee at least 3 major PA Breast Cancer Coalition programs and other special events as assigned
    • Coordinate all details of the annual PA Breast Cancer Coalition Conference
      • Create timeline, staff 8-week countdown and event play-by-play
      • Coordinate event speakers, workshop presenters, special guests and dignitaries
      • Provide event briefings and remarks
      • Coordinate all arrangements with the event site and other vendors
      • Compile continuing education application for accrediting agency
  • Manage the PBCC Research grant program
    • Coordinate grant review committee and RFA process
      • Plan events at grantee facilities
  • Organize educational webinars
    • Book webinar presenters, set up webinar details and keep attendee list
    • Act as the moderator and run webinar software
    • Prepare reports for PBCC database and accrediting agencies
  • As needed, assist the Outreach and Communications Coordinator with the planning of the “67 Women, 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania” Traveling Photo Exhibit. Attend site visits, planning committee meetings and event opening receptions.
  • Travel, as needed, to provide oversight and assistance for programs and events off-site
  • Ensure consistency of quality and high standards in all programs and events


  • Experience with nonprofits & bachelor’s degree
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and work productively in a team setting
  • Willingness to travel and attend occasional evening and weekend events
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
  • At least 2 years’ experience coordinating special events
  • Graphic design skills a big plus

Salary Range
This position offers a competitive non-profit salary and excellent benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan, tuition assistance and life insurance. The salary range is $30,000-$35,000 and is dependent on education and experience.
