TaTaTrotWhat began as a creative idea for a 5K run/walk fundraiser with 50 participants in 2010 has grown into one of the most successful and largest PBCC Grassroots Partner events in just 4 short years! This year’s Ta-Ta Trot was held on July 13th in Sunbury, Pa where over 1,700 “trotters” from 22 states gathered in creative and colorful costumes to break a sweat and raise money for women facing breast cancer in PA. Prizes were awarded not only to the race winners, but also to the “Best Dressed” team, the “Highest Fundraiser” team and everyone was eligible for “You are Awesome” door prizes, which were generously donated by the many sponsors of the Ta-Ta Trot. The event ended up raising a ground-breaking $73,000, which will benefit both the PBCC and Geisinger Health System Marie Lamey Fund. THANK YOU to the entire Ta-Ta Trot Committee, including breast cancer survivors Julie Rockey and Cheryl Delsite, and to EVERYONE who supported the trot through their time, energy, and monetary donations. Help the Ta-Ta Trot reach their 2014 goals of 2,000 participants from all 50 states next year and don’t forget to follow them on Facebook to keep up with the latest news from the Ta-Ta Trot!
