"My insurance company was refusing to cover a portion of the bill from my reconstructive surgery. They said it was cosmetic. Once I shared with them the information you gave me, they reversed the denial of my 3rd appeal. I never wanted something for nothing. I just wanted what was fair." |

“When I started to have pain in my breast I was very afraid because I had no health insurance. I called the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and the patient advocate referred me to the HealthyWoman program for my mammogram. I was treated really well at Hamilton Health and they even gave me a flower! A sweet elderly man in the waiting room said, ‘Oh, I wonder if I’ll get a flower too.’ I didn’t think he would so I gave him mine. I’m very grateful to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and to everyone involved with the HealthyWoman program. Everything turned out fine with the mammogram and that was such a relief!’ HealthyWoman is a project of the PA Department of Health. |

“Thanks for all you did for me in my time of great need. You were friendly, sympathetic and supportive. Even though I did not request the book ‘Breast Cancer: Covered or Not?’ your patient advocate thought it may be useful and sent it to me. This is called “going the extra mile.” I hope many more women will find your organization and get the help they need, too. May the Lord bless you!” |

“The PBCC patient advocate was very helpful and gave me an immediate response to my questions. I am a widow and I really appreciated the sisterly support. I felt entirely different; like I was not alone.” |
