TAKE A SWING AGAINST BREAST CANCER!

The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers encourage you to report for Spring Training and sign up for the 2nd annual Home Run Derby

EPHRATA, Pa. – Batter Up! It’s time to break out your baseball bat and head out to the ballpark! The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) and the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers have joined together once again to bring a Home Run Derby event to each of the 11 Minor League Baseball Stadiums across the state. These events, all taking place throughout the month of July 2009, will not only raise funds for the PBCC but will raise awareness in communities throughout the state.

Events will be held from approximately 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in each of the following stadiums throughout PA:

Altoona Curve – July 7

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees – July 9

Williamsport Crosscutters – July 10

Harrisburg Senators – July 14

York Revolution – July 16

Lancaster Barnstormers – July 18

Erie Seawolves – July 20

Washington Wildthings – July 21

Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs – July 22

State College Spikes – July 23

Reading Phillies – July 30

Teams of four can now sign up on the Home Run Derby website at www.pahomerunderby.org. Opportunities to participate are still available in each stadium with a donation of $1,000. Each team will receive event shirts and a souvenir team photo. Points will be based on where the ball lands in terms of a hit to infield, hit to outfield, hit to the back wall, and homerun. Team winners will be recognized before that evening’s game with possible "first pitch" opportunities!

For more details, or to sign-up, please visit the Home Run Derby website at www.pahomerunderby.org or contact PBCC Executive Director, Heather Hibshman, at 1-800-377-8828 x102 or heather@pabreastcancer.org.

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition represents, supports and serves breast cancer survivors and their families in Pennsylvania through educational programming, legislative advocacy and breast cancer research grants.
