The PA Breast Cancer Coalition Announces Special Promotions and Partnerships for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Ephrata, PA - The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) is proud to kick-off National Breast Cancer Awareness month this October with special partnerships and promotions to benefit the PBCC. Donations made through each of these special partnerships will stay in Pennsylvania so the PBCC may continue to serve the 103,000 women living with breast cancer in Pennsylvania. A complete list of the PBCC’s partnerships and promotions can be found at www.pabreastcancer.org/partnerships.html

Martin’s Chips in for a Cure - Purchase Martin's Kettle-Cook'd chips in the limited edition pink ribbon bags! Martin's has transformed its bag through October and 25 cents from each purchase is donated directly to the PBCC! Look for them in your local grocery store. In addition, Martin's is holding an essay contest through the month of October. To enter, compose an essay of 250 words or less on the topic "Why is it important to have a Breast Cancer Awareness Month".  You could win $100 and a Martin's Potato Chip gift box!  Visit www.pabreastcancer.org/contest.html for more information.

Metro Bank – Make Your Coins Count! Put your spare change to work for the PBCC through Metro Bank’s Magic Money Machines! Simply take your spare change to any Metro Bank branch and use the free coin counting machines to get your total.  When you’re finished, take your receipt to the teller and let them know you’d like to donate all or part of your total to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.  You don’t even need to be a Metro Bank customer.

Giant Food Stores - Purchase your special pink ribbon reusable grocery bag at any Giant Food Store!  10 cents will be donated to the PBCC for each bag sold.  Act fast!  These bags sold quickly in 2008!

Beringer Wine - For every twelve bottles of Beringer Blush Wine sold at Wine and Spirits Stores in PA, $1 will be donated to the PBCC. There are five varieties of Beringer Blush Wine to choose from. Customers do not have to purchase all 12 bottles for the donation to be made; a running tally will be kept in each store. Every bottle purchased will count!

"We are thrilled to celebrate breast cancer awareness month in a unique way this year,” said Pat Halpin-Murphy, President & Founder of the PBCC. “These promotions are a great way for the community to get involved with the PBCC without putting a dent in their wallet during these tough economic times."

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition is a statewide non-profit organization that represents, supports, and serves breast cancer survivors and their families in Pennsylvania through educational programming, legislative advocacy, and breast cancer research grants.
