Green Ridge Village Holds Annual Walk To Promote Breast Cancer Awareness

EPHRATA, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) is pleased to join with Green Ridge Village in Newville, PA to promote breast cancer awareness on October 20, 2007. Green Ridge Village will hold their annual Green Ridge Village Walk with the proceeds going to the PBCC.

The walk will begin at 9 a.m. after opening remarks from PBCC Executive Director, Heather Hibshman. Several teams will walk this year including teams from Carlisle Regional Medical Center, Odyssey HealthCare and Green Ridge Village. The PBCC will be at the event with an information table including materials on various programs, outreach, and advocacy efforts on behalf of breast cancer survivors and their families throughout Pennsylvania. There will be a one, two and five mile route available to all participants. A light lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A breast cancer survivor wall will also be displayed at the event.

“We are thrilled that the folks at Green Ridge Village have teamed up once again in support of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the women that we serve across the state,” said Pat Halpin-Murphy, President and Founder of the PBCC. “Thanks to their fundraising efforts, we will be able to continue to spread the message of breast cancer awareness.”

For their grassroots fundraising efforts, Green Ridge Village will once again receive the designation of a PBCC Grassroots Partner. Grassroots Partners are community organizations, individuals, or corporations that plan events to raise funds for the PBCC.

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition represents, supports and serves breast cancer survivors and their families in Pennsylvania through educational programming, legislative advocacy and unique outreach initiatives. The PBCC is a statewide non-profit organization that creates the hope of a brighter tomorrow by providing action and information to women with breast cancer today.
