The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition Showcases Its Traveling Photo Exhibit In Clearfield County At The Dubois Regional Medical Center

DUBOIS, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) is pleased to work with the DuBois Regional Medical Center (DRMC) to bring its traveling photo exhibit “67 Women, 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania,” to Clearfield County from September 27 – October 7. The photo exhibit will be displayed for the public to view.

An opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, September 27 starting at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. To RSVP for the opening reception, please call 1-800-377-8828 x303.

This work of art features women from each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties, along with a message about how breast cancer has touched their lives. The women reflect the diversity of Pennsylvania, and their stories reflect the impact of breast cancer on themselves, their families and their communities. The exhibit encourages women to learn about early detection and celebrates life, courage, hope and dignity of women and families who have battled breast cancer.

Pat Halpin-Murphy, PBCC President and Founder, encourages everyone to visit the exhibit.  “Breast cancer is not a rare event separate from the fabrics of our everyday lives. It impacts our mothers, daughters and friends.  We must educate ourselves about this disease and fight to find a cure now…so our daughters won’t have to.”

“We are honored to have the 67 Women, 67 Counties exhibit displayed at DRMC and to share it with everyone in the community,” Raymond A. Graeca, president of DRMC, said. “The women and stories depicted in the exhibit show that breast cancer can affect anyone. They are a reminder that education and early prevention are something everyone must consider, and both are strongly encouraged by all of us at DRMC.”

“67 Women, 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania” is sponsored by the PBCC and funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The exhibit travels to several select Pennsylvania communities each year, and has been to over 80 communities since its launch ten years ago.

The PBCC, founded in 1993, is a non-profit organization and the only statewide grassroots organization that speaks to and for breast cancer survivors. The PA Breast Cancer Coalition represents, supports and serves breast cancer survivors and their families in Pennsylvania through educational programming, legislative advocacy and unique outreach initiatives. The PBCC is a statewide non-profit organization that creates the hope of a brighter tomorrow by providing action and information to women with breast cancer today.
