Generous online donation from Dr. D. Lawrence Wickerham puts
Adams County ahead in countywide contest
EPHRATA, Pa. – While it is common for people to be dreaming of a white Christmas this time of year, the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition is encouraging all to ‘think pink’ this holiday season and contribute to the online giving program, Paint Pennsylvania Pink, to make it a pink Christmas!
Internet users can visit www.pabreastcancer.org/ppp and see a county-by-county map of Pennsylvania – each of them a certain shade of pink. Every online contribution toward a specific county goes toward bringing that particular county closer to its goal and raising the bar for the rest of Pennsylvania. You can make a donation in honor or memory of a friend or family member, and choose to paint their home county pink.
Dr. D. Lawrence Wickerham of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project and the 2006 Potamkin Awardee at the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Conference chose to paint his home county of Adams County pink and gave the biggest “Paint Pennsylvania Pink” donation to date! His donation put Adams County in the lead in the friendly countywide competition to see who can help turn their county the brightest shade of pink possible and raise the most money to help fund the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition’s programs and initiatives.
Paint Pennsylvania Pink is the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition’s newest initiative; where the power to make a difference in the lives of breast cancer survivors and their families is within reach of every person with access to the internet.
“Paint Pennsylvania Pink puts the power to make a difference at your fingertips. Every dollar contributed through the program will help the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition continue to paint Pennsylvania pink through our outreach and advocacy efforts,” said Pat Halpin-Murphy, PBCC President & Founder
