An Evening at Felicita’s Italian GardensTo Benefit PA Breast Cancer Coalition
(Ephrata, PA) – “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” , a special evening to benefit the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, is being held Sunday, June 23, 2002 from 6-9pm at Felicita’s Italian Gardens, 2201 Fishing Creek Valley Road in Harrisburg, PA. This garden party event is the first of its kind for the PBCC and was organized by a committee of community volunteers, co-chaired by Joan Prescott of Camp Hill and Rosemary Chiavetta of Harrisburg.
Featured entertainment includes acclaimed violinist Odin Rathnam, Concertmaster of the Harrisburg Symphony, and the Millionaire Strolling Strings of Williamsport Area High School. First Lady Kathy Schweiker , Honorary Chair of the PBCC, is invited to attend.
The Gardens at Felicita are a spectacular setting for such an event. The Italian Garden consists of 8 acres of theme gardens and chronicles 2200 years of Italian gardening, from its Middle Eastern heritage to the classical Greco-Roman amphitheater period, on to Pompeii, the Dark Ages, and the Renaissance. The Garden includes four terraces, seven ponds, three 120-foot stucco and stone walls, numerous sculptures, fountains and thousands of beautiful flowers and shrubs.
All monies raised through this event will go to further the advocacy, outreach, research and educational efforts of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. Cost to attend is $125 per person. Various levels of sponsorship are also available.
The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, founded in 1993,
is a non-profit organization serving each of the state’s 67 counties
through a network of County Captains, Regional Vice Presidents and a statewide
Board of Directors.
The PBCC’s mission is to find a cure for breast cancer and
to improve the quality of breast cancer education, research and
outreach in the state.
