June 2007
June is proving to be a month full of activity for the PBCC. We’ve got “Dancing Under the Stars”, an elegant fundraiser in Harrisburg. We’re conducting an educational seminar on Pennsylvania’s free treatment that is available to women with little or no insurance, who are diagnosed with breast cancer. Our traveling photo exhibit visits Carlisle this month. We’re attending a summit on patient advocacy. We will hold our semi-annual board meeting. We’re launching our “Standing Strong” care packages for survivors, thanks to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. And Katie, our intern, starts her summer with us. And in the midst of all that, one of our staffers is getting married and moving out of the area.
We are currently hiring a full-time development coordinator. This person will join our team in the Ephrata office and be responsible for the overall fundraising efforts and communications of the organization. It is a wonderful opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and experienced candidate. If you think you are that person, or you might know the right person, please send a resume and cover letter to jobs@pabreastcancer.org. There is more detailed information about the job available on our homepage.
I continue to be amazed at how much we accomplish here at the PBCC. I am convinced there is not a more effective staff in the state; not a more resourceful bunch; and nobody I would rather spend my working days with. If you want to join our team, I want to hear from you today.
Amy, you have been a tremendous asset to the staff and will be greatly missed.
