March 2006
I know I’ve written about this topic before, but it bears repeating. Last night, I went to a fundraiser in Grantville (Dauphin County). It was called “Country Line Dancing for a Cure” and included lessons, silent auction items, door prizes, and dancing by all. How wonderful that Sondra Ott and Linda Garman, the organizers of the event, were able to translate their passion for country line dancing into a FUNdraiser for the PBCC, raising over $5000 to help us continue our mission across this state.
The day before, one of our staffers attended the 2nd annual “Live Like You Were Dying” dance recital in Spring Mills (Centre County), also to benefit the PBCC. This recital is directed by Jonathan Daulby, a very focused and organized high school sophomore, who is committed to this cause, and uses his passion for dance as his vehicle for FUNdraising.
What’s your passion? Could it translate to a FUNdraiser for the PBCC? We would love to work with you on any ideas you may have. Our grassroots partners across the state are the heart and soul of our fundraising efforts. We would not be able to continue our mission and our programs if not for the dedicated dancers, painters, baseball players, singers, golfers, walkers, musicians, and knitters that live in Pennsylvania.
Please call me at 1-800-377-8828 x 102 or email me at heather@pabreastcancer.org to see how you can become a grassroots partner for the PBCC. Don’t let your talents go to waste.
Sincerely,
Heather Hibshman
Executive Director
