June 2006
As I sit and write this in the sweltering heat of the last days of May, I think about what lies ahead in June. For many, it’s picnics, graduations, Father’s Day celebrations, birthday parties and vacations. For us at the PBCC, it’s business as usual.
There was a time, not so many years ago, when the staff would lovingly call June and July “the slow time”. There weren’t as many events, we were slowly gearing up for the October conference, we may or may not decide to produce a September newsletter. But times have changed. This month we are on the road to Ephrata, Stroudsburg, Williamsport and Mechanicsburg; conference planning is in full swing and has been for many months; and of course we will produce a September newsletter. How else would we tell you about everything that is going on?
The line-up of speakers is almost complete for our October 11 annual conference. Click here to see this year’s topics. I think you’ll be impressed with the diversity of subject matter and presenters. Keep checking your mailbox and our website for ways to register for this conference, the only statewide breast cancer conference of its kind.
I hope you stay cool this month. Speaking of cool…have you ordered your pink ribbon license plate yet?
