December 2006
Hello friends. I’m tired. Tired of Christmas shopping, tired of worrying about getting just the right gift, and tired of my cat eating the needles from the Christmas tree.
I’m tired of the internal debate to send Christmas cards or not to send cards. I mean, who has time to write out cards anymore? Is that three more in today’s mail??
I’m tired of wondering what to get the grandfather who has everything and fighting the crowds for milk and bread at the threat of a snowflake in the air.
But wait…is that the sound of you complaining Heather? What if you had to do all that and go to cancer treatment appointments? Or take care of a loved one with cancer. What if you had to manage all the shopping, decorating and sub-zero temperatures with nausea, fatigue and a bald head?
This is the busiest time of year for many folks. In my opinion, the real holiday angels are those brave women and families battling a breast cancer diagnosis. What did you get for Christmas? Imagine if the answer were “breast cancer”. About one thousand Pennsylvania women will receive that diagnosis this month. Is it a gift? That’s for them to decide in time.
Until then, we are here for all the breast cancer survivors in Pennsylvania – those just diagnosed and those who have lived with it for decades. Please check out the rest of this website to see what gifts we can give you this month and all year long.
Happy holidays.
