January, 2005
Happy New Year to all of you! I trust you are getting back to the daily grind of life, un-decorating the house, and finishing up all the leftover cookies. After all, isn’t the number one New Year’s Resolution to finally lose those 5, 10, 15 pounds?
In general, I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. Oh sure, I’ve done it. Some I’ve kept, most I’ve broken. But as the Executive Director of the PBCC, there is one year-long resolution that I can keep. I resolve to continue to commit my working days to bettering the lives of breast cancer survivors, and to do everything in our power to direct research dollars to those who have the resources and ability to finally find a cure for this disease.
What can you do? Resolve to donate your state income tax refund, no matter how small, to the breast and cervical cancer research fund. It’s painless and simple. Resolve to attend this year’s Keystone Breast Cancer Conference, and bring a friend. Resolve to tell your network of friends and co-workers about the PBCC. You just never know who might benefit from that knowledge at that moment.
Thank you for your kindness and contributions over the holiday season and throughout the year. We wouldn’t be here without you.
Sincerely,
Heather Hibshman
Executive Director
