November 2004
November is, traditionally, a time to give thanks.
Thank you to everyone who made last month’s Keystone Breast Cancer Conference a success. It is remarkable to see the camaraderie and fellowship that come out of this annual event. We would not be able to do it without our sponsors, volunteers, attendees, workshop presenters and moderators, exhibitors, and staff who each play a vital part.
Thank you to everyone who gave a donation this year in honor or memory of a loved one with breast cancer. Your tributes are greatly appreciated by both the PBCC and your loved ones’ family members. We rely on your donations and generosity to be able to continue our educational programs and outreach across the state.
Thank you to the researchers who continue to work in the labs in the hopes of one day finding a cure for, or prevention of, breast cancer. Your contribution to society is immeasurable, and I admire the work you do.
Thank you to the breast cancer survivors, who remind us why we show up to work every day.
And personally, I want to give thanks to the wonderful PBCC staff for their tireless work throughout the year. None of what we accomplish would be possible without each and every one of them. Dolores, for your compassion and enormous heart. Tricia, for your impressive work ethic and never-say-die attitude. Kim, for your attention to detail that makes all of us look better. Carol, for your constant pleasant demeanor and willingness to do whatever is needed. Jen, for your eye for design and graphics that make this organization first rate. And Jennie, our newest recruit, for being a breath of fresh air that brightens everyone’s day.
Happiest of Thanksgivings to all of you.
Sincerely,
Heather Hibshman
Executive Director
