REAL HOPE… Just this month, the NEW DISCOVERY OF A BREAST CANCER CELL-DESTROYING VIRUS found by Dr. Craig Meyers, was announced at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA.
In fact, it’s because of donations from people like you, through the PA Breast Cancer Coalition's (PBCC) Refunds for Breast Cancer Research program that we initially funded this promising research that could lead to a cure. But, to advance research, it takes substantial funding. That's why the PBCC gave Dr. Craig Meyers an additional $100,000 to move ahead with his discoveries.
Breast cancer survivors, their families and those who care for them look forward to the final phase of this research--clinical trials with humans. While that final step may still be years away, it gives us hope that we will discover a cure so our daughters won’t have to. Dr. Meyers’ breakthrough is a real-world example that research is our best weapon in battling breast cancer. These exciting new results of a virus that kills all stages and all types of breast cancer cells in the laboratory is what, for decades, the medical community has worked towards and the rest of the world has been waiting for.

- 140,000 women are living with breast cancer in this state

- Over 75 women have been assisted by our full-time Patient Advocate
