Live, learn, lead!
2008 Breast Cancer Leadership Training Seminar

Tuesday, October 7, 2008
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Metro Conference Rooms, Harrisburg Hilton
Registration for this event is only $25. Two scholarships are available.

Join the PBCC at the Harrisburg Hilton for an educational and motivational day of tips, tricks and advice for both the grassroots activist and the grassroots fundraiser.  The Breast Cancer Leadership Training Seminar, held in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Conference™, consists of two workshops:

"One Person Can Make a Difference"
In this workshop, advocates will learn helpful tips that can be used to take action.  This workshop will feature segments on legislative advocacy, patient advocacy, and how to begin reaching out to your local media.  Workshop attendees will be equipped with the resources that they need to take the lead in breast cancer advocacy in their community.

"Put the Fun in Fundraising"
This is a workshop that will give grassroots partners the knowledge they need to organize and execute a successful community fundraiser.  This workshop will address topics such as community focus, visibility, involvement, and publicity.  Real world examples and ideas from successful grassroots fundraising events will be presented by some of the PBCC's own grassroots partners.

This select seminar, open to a limited number of women and men interested in the fight against breast cancer, will show you how one person really can make a difference - and have a lot of fun doing it!  Class size is limited and selected applicants will be notified in September.

Upon acceptance into this training, attendees will be asked to submit a $25 registration fee, which helps to defray lunch and material costs.  All other costs and materials for the training will be covered by the PBCC.  Two scholarships for the training will be available.

Leadership Training Scholarship Application will be available soon.

If applying for a scholarship, please submit BOTH applications together.

If participants choose to attend the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Conference™ the next day, they are responsible for their own lodging and conference registration fees.

Leadership Training Application will be available soon.

Application is in a .pdf format and may take a few seconds to load.  Please be patient!  If you need an application mailed to you, please email kim@pabreastcancer.org or call 717-721-2580 x 104.

Testimonial

"I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for giving my (16-year-old) daughter an incredible opportunity at the advocacy scientific training.  You made us feel so warmly  welcomed.  We both left Harrisburg that evening so much richer for the experience.  It was amazing to be in rooms full of women with such personal strength and determination.  I just want to say thank you so very much.  My daughter came away from this experience with such a respect for what you do."  - Melissa, Bloomsburg
